Monthly Programs Meetings

*Saturday, January 21, 9:30 a.m

 Linda Martin advisor to the GEMS Club (Girls Excelling in Math and Science) at Dogwood Elementary School in Reston will discuss and share information about the program.

 

*Saturday, February 11, 9:30 a.m.

 Art Taylor, from George Mason University will explain how to review a book.  He will refer to the mystery novel, I’d Know you Anywhere, by Laura Lippman.

 

*Tuesday, March 20, 7 p.m. 

Annual Business Meeting and potluck dinner.

Co-President Nancy Patterson will preside. Elections will be held.

 

*Tuesday, April 17, 7 p.m.

 Leslie Vandivere, co-president of the Fairfax City Branch of AAUW, will relate her experiences as co-chair of the Fairfax County Public School Human Relations Advisory Committee.  She will discuss the 2011 report on bullying that the committee produced in response to the School Board’s charge. A second guest will be Holly Kearl who most recently co-authored AAUW’s ‘Crossing the Line – Sexual Harassment at School.’
