Linda Martin advisor to the GEMS Club (Girls Excelling in
Math and Science) at Dogwood Elementary School in Reston will
discuss and share information about the program.

Art Taylor, from George Mason University will explain how to
review a book. He will refer to the mystery novel, I’d Know
you Anywhere, by Laura Lippman.

Leslie Vandivere, co-president of the Fairfax City Branch of AAUW,
will relate her experiences as co-chair of the Fairfax County Public
School Human Relations Advisory Committee. She will discuss the
2011 report on bullying that the committee produced in
response to the School Board’s charge. A second guest will be Holly
Kearl who most recently co-authored AAUW’s ‘Crossing the Line –
Sexual Harassment at School.’
