MORNING LITERATURE GROUP

Good Reading for 2008!

The Morning Lit group meets monthly, throughout the year.  We welcome any members interested in a good look at some fine books!  New members are always welcome.

Our book discussions are held on the third Friday of each month, at the McLean Community Center, 9:30 a.m.  Here is the schedule for the spring:

February 8: Labyrinth, by Kate Mosse (Mary de Tray leads the discussion)
March 14: Suite Francaise, by Irene Nemirovsky (Bettie Clark leads discussion)
April 11: Author Luncheon
May 9: American Sphinx, The Character of Thomas Jefferson, by Joseph Ellis (Margaret Hansen leads the discussion)
June 13:  Book selection luncheon (local restaurant)

A local author, Mary Claire Mahaney, will be the speaker at the Author Luncheon, April 11.  Ms. Mahaney has lived in McLean for 20 years and has been active in many local civic and school organizations. Although she practiced law and taught business law in the past, more recently, she has written many essays and poetry for various newspapers.  Her first novel, Osaka Heat, was published in 2007.   The luncheon will be catered.  More information about reservations will be provided in the March newsletter.
